End of Life support
Every person has a different End of Life journey. For some, death can be sudden and unexpected, while others are diagnosed with a life-limiting illness and may have plenty of time to plan. This means that EOL support can mean very different things for different people.
If a person has suddenly died, the support may be required by a community who are dealing with a sudden and traumatic loss. I can assist with ceremony planning and event management, advocating for your wishes with other EOL professionals and accessing services and resources as required. I can also support you through the quagmire of death admin that is required after a death.
For a person diagnosed with a life-limiting illness, support could include ongoing planning and conversations around new information, doing the shopping, attending medical appointments, liaising with NDIS services and working with family and friends to manage a support roster. Or maybe it is as simple as just watering the plants and helping out with chores. Support can be whatever it is you need.
I can also provide emotional support and help with accessing cultural and faith based resources if required. In the active dying stage I can help with vigils, advocating around pain management and working with palliative care teams to support families.
I aim to be available as required, which may be a steady and predictable series of regular appointments or a more sporadic arrangement depending on needs.
